Train the Trainer
@ Walnut Creek Metro Park, February 25, 2025
Thank you for participating in the Train the Trainer Event at Walnut Creek Metro Park on Feb 25, 2024. This event brings to fruition the Unified Management Plan created by the City of Austin, Austin Parks Foundation, and Siglo Group to facilitate greater volunteer stewardship of natural areas in this park and eventually others. Today we are focusing on specific tasks you can do in this park or others with your volunteer groups to further the ecological health and natural beauty of our park system.
The day will include a general overview of working as a volunteer in parks as well as focused practical experience associated with invasive species removal, invasive species ID, sustainable trail management, live tree staking, and general information about the Unified Management Plan and Walnut Creek metro Park.
